New Addition - Dog

The Trainers at Paw Prints Pet Training are the first in Western Australia to provide specific Post Adoptive Training for newly adopted dogs. Whether from a shelter or another family, we understand the special needs of 'second hand' dogs.

We have put together a package deal as we usually recommend in-home training for the first session to ensure the dog is set up to succeed - in regards to good toileting practises, not practising destructive behaviours, or developing separation distress.

The first session is an in home session for 90 minutes to educate the owner about the needs of a newly adopted dog. We cover:

  • Developing good toileting habits
  • Preventing separation distress
  • Introduction or developement of behaviours such as sit, lie down, come when called, on your bed ('settle'), walk on a loose lead
  • Discussion of body language and how to successfully introduce new dog to other friendly dogs
  • Massage and bonding practises

At this session the owner will also receive extensive handouts and free phone and email support.

The second part of the package is an 8 class course at our Murdoch Training Venue.

This package is $340 (usually $370).

Please note: This is only available for non-reactive dogs who are able to participate in a group class.
