Post Adoptive

The aim of this programme is to help the adopted dog settle in to its new home, to promote bonding and trust between owner and dog and to teach the owners how to teach their dogs. The following programme is intended as an outline only. Each dog and owner combination is unique and the programme is designed to be modified based on the clients' needs.

These private sessions are based on research by a psychologist. This research has been scientifically proven to assist with successful integration for a rescue dog into a new home.

It is currently the only program of its kind to be run in Western Australia.

Each session involves one trainer and will usually be held in the owners home. Notes will be written up after each session detailing what was done and how the dog/owner responded. Basic handouts will be provided.

Details are as follows:

• Dogs of any age, as long as they are vaccinated
• Children and family members are encouraged to attend
