Kat Richards has always loved animals – as a child she wanted to be a vet.
She volunteered at the Dogs’ Refuge Home from 1998 until 2002. Work took her away for several years, but after returning in 2006 she is still an active volunteer.
In 2006 Kat met Georgia, Cecile and Trevor, and was able to take Refuge dogs to Paw Prints Pet Training classes for weekly basic training.
Kat has been fostering dogs since 2008 and now also fosters cats for the Cat Haven.
She is currently working towards her Industry Accredited Dog Trainer qualification and is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers Australia.
Kat has four dogs – Cuddles, a Whippet; Bella, a Staffy mix; Hazel, a Shar Pei mix and Zippy, her second Whippet.
