Georgia Karajas owns and operates Paw Prints Pet Training with the help of her hand-picked team of fellow dog lovers! She began working with dogs when she took her first dog to obedience training. She was asked to become an instructor not too long after, and the rest is history!
Georgia and her dogs have taken part in Obedience and Agility competitions, doggy dancing and tracking. In 2006, Georgia completed her Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services and gained her formal Qualification and Accreditation as a Behavioural Dog Trainer.
She is a member of the Canine Association of WA, has served on various training and breed committees, including the Delta Professional Dog Trainers Group, and is the state representative for the Association of Pet Dog Trainers Australia. Georgia is also an Accredited Assessor for the Canine Good Citizen™ award. Georgia was an RSPCA trainer and is the official trainer for the West Australian Beagle Club.
For almost four years, Georgia served as the head of the Behavioural Department at the Dogs’ Refuge Home, Shenton Park, Western Australia – one of Australia’s oldest shelters. Georgia successfully introduced positive reinforcement training to this 75-year-old institution.
In 2009, at the annual Association of Pet Dog Trainers conference held in Sydney, Georgia was voted Australian Dog Trainer of the year.
Georgia now spends her time lecturing at TAFE, working with Assistance Dogs Australia and running Paw Prints Pet Training. She has four dogs – Homer, Bender, Chanel and Minnie.
